How does General Parking at Ballina Airport Work?

Upon Arrival

On the day of your departure, arrive to the General Car Park at least 10 minutes in advance of when you need to be at the check-in desks to ensure you can get a parking bay.

As you arrive at the entry barrier, it will automatically lift and take note of your licence plate so you can pay upon return. You will receive a parking ticket.

Travellers can also pay for parking at one of the two pay stations inside the terminal by simply inserting their vehicle plate number.

Should you or a member of your party park with a disability parking permit, you will not be charged for your parking duration. Provide the intercom operator with your disability permit number upon return, and they will ensure your stay is complimentary.

Upon Return

Return to the car park. If you have already paid at the payment machine upon arrival, the gate will automatically lift to allow you to leave.

If you haven't paid, you can pay with a credit card at the exit gate or with cash at the pay station inside the arrivals & departures hall.

If you lost your ticket whilst on your trip, don't worry!

Simply enter your vehicle's licence plate number into the pay station within the 'Arrivals & Departures' hall, and pay with cash or credit card upon exiting the car park.

From Ballina CBD, follow the directions below to reach the General Car Park at Ballina Byron:

Head north on River St toward Cherry St
After about 200 meters, turn right onto Kerr St
Follow Kerr St for approximately 2 kilometres. Kerr St becomes Tamarind Dr
After about 2 kilometres on Tamarind Dr, turn left onto Southern Cross Dr
Follow Southern Cross Dr to Ballina Byron Airport
Continue straight for about 2 kilometres. The entrance to Ballina Byron Gateway Airport will be on your left
Follow the signs to the general car park once you enter the airport grounds

The drive should take 10 -15 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
